PSL doughnut…now you have my attention. We got up early today and hightailed it to Dead Horse Doughnuts in #palmerak. It did not disappoint. The uncertified GF old fashioned is my favorite so far…but we still have half a box to work through. 😉

I enjoy cooking for the people I love, but I also love to share my favorite local eats when hosting out-of-t owners. This weekend our guests were a great excuse to dine at Turkey Red and The Chophouse. I went for spinach crispelle on the left and the duck in orange sauce on the right, respectively.

It’s that time of year again…berry season! For me that means everything and anything berry, including my beer. I enjoyed sipping a Lion’s Head, a raspberry wheat beer from Bearpaw River Brewing Company last night. Highly recommend it if you’re into fruit wheat beers. #cheers #berryseason

We love rockfish in our house, especially when I make miso sauce for it. I typically cook the side veggies with the sauce in the colder months. This time of year we like it with a garden salad. #cookingsky

Visiting #corvallisoregon this week and I had to wrap the week with a trip to Greenhouse. They have a couple special drinks this month that support their CARDV neighbors. Stop by and support community. I recommend Mommy’s special matcha with an add shot and some macadamia milk.

Nonna’s on Friday night was excellent per usual. I got the lemon ricotta pasta special. Plenty of pepper in it to balance the flavors I typically associate with sweet dishes, not savory. I thought I had room for dessert, but the tiramisu is sooo delicious and rich. It is a dessert best shared imo.

Yesterday was the first time we’ve made it to Friday Fling, and what a beautiful sunny day! Dinner consisted of a #friedchicken sandwich from Rueben Haus. Dessert was macarons from GG Macs. The lemon macaron is my go-to flavor, but the chocolate orange ginger is my new favorite. #palmerak #foodsky

Friday I went for my first forage trip in Alaska. Suffice it to say it was successful and I came home with a bunch of #fiddleheads. I blanched them all and some got fried up with bacon and onions for dinner last night. The rest are marinating in the fridge for the time being. #springflavors

One last dinner at Feather and Flour. After three years of business, Feather and Flour is closing its doors. I am excited to hear what’s next for this incredible team. I am also incredibly sad to lose this magical place. The flavors, the people, and the memories will not soon be forgotten. #palmerak

Fire Island is my favorite bakery in ANC. Yesterday I tried their seasonal cupcake: kiwi and lemongrass. I was not a fan of the frosting on top, but the kiwi cream middle and the cupcake texture were fantastic! The flavor combo certainly works, too. #spring #kiwi #lemongrass #cupcake
