Lesbia Gutiérrez was arbitrarily detained on August 10, 2024. Since then, her family has been unable to see her, placing her among the political prisoners who are victims of enforced disappearance.

In 2023, Marfa Rabkova was sentenced to 14 years and 9 months in prison. She was found guilty of violating ten articles of the Criminal Code for allegedly organizing criminal groups and inciting mass riots.

In 2022, Golrokh Iraee was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison on the charge of "gathering and colluding against national security" and producing "propaganda against the state."

Marwa Arafa has been arbitrarily detained since April 20, 2020. Marwa is an Egyptian woman human rights defender and translator who supported families of detainees.

In 2021, Sally was imprisoned. She was tried for trumped up charges of rebellion, falsely accused of being a member of a group involved in a series of ambushes against government troops.

On November 27, 2013, the UN General Assembly adopted its first-ever resolution on women human rights defenders. This was a significant achievement for WHRDIC and #WHRD groups worldwide. The historic document recognises the threats, discrimination, and violence faced by WHRDs.

Milagro Sala was arrested in 2016 on alleged charges of fraud and criminal conspiracy. Activists believe she was jailed for leading anti-government protests.
