This zoom and enhance feature on the pixel 9 is really weird. It's more like an "add AI artefacts everywhere" feature. Haven't gotten a single photo better with it.

Details of a proprietary vectorised engine from Alibaba for Apache Flink called Flash. It includes two new state storage engines under the name ForStDB ("For Streaming DB")
It's written in C++ and they claim 10x performance improvements.

The usual clickbait: "blazingly fast.. built in Rust": it's this warm feeling like running C++ code in R or Python ("100x faster!") and that attracts people to learn Rust.
The much greater learnings imo are:
- RAII guided by the compiler
- what a modern toolchain should look like
- how memory works
