I just jokingly said "maybe I should just started drawing characters from media I like as axolotls and make that my niche" and then immediately questioned what Vox from Hazbin Hotel would look like when this is how I draw axolotls

I finally got around to watching season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, and I really liked it tbh! Like yeah I could see some flaws, as there are in just about any story, but it really wasn't difficult to look past them and still enjoy watching it.

Thinking about this again, and I feel like it would be the most interesting if Mal's story took place on Earth. More interesting than if she were on Copper 9 or some ther random planet.

That would mean she probably wouldn't get a happy ending though given what happens in the show 😬

I wrote down a weird ass Cookie Run dream I had earlier today. It had MatPat in it for some fucking reason????
(Part of a) Weird Cookie Run dream: Gingerbrave and the gang are staying at an old house out in the middle of nowhere. Outside of it there's a blue tube slide, some horse stables, and a couple of cellar doors; one of which is near the house where you'd expect, the other is oddly placed a few feet away from the slide hidden away in some grass. Gingerbrave and his friends are discussing the disturbing rumors and theories they've heard about this place, and the oddly placed cellar door, when in walks MatPat. (Not as a cookie. Just regular ass MatPat.) No one seems phased by this, in fact they act like they knew he was there the whole time, and they rope him into their conversation. They ask why he's also staying here, and he says he has some theories of his own about the place and wanted to check it out for himself. Strawberry Cookie excitedly asks if that means they're all going to go explore the basement together. MatPat nervously chuckles and says "No I don't think so-" and then freezes while making a strange noise as if he's started glitching. Strawberry Cookie gets a bit weirded out by this, and after a couple of seconds she turns back to say something to the others. As she does this the strange noise that MatPat is making shifts into that of a woman humming a tune, as MatPat transforms into Dark Enchantress Cookie. (Though she didn't look too much like a cookie, honestly a bit more like a Disney princess or something. Perhaps better comparable to Maleficent.) DEC takes a seat on the bed that Strawberry Cookie was sitting on. Strawberry Cookie looks startled as she does this and pauses momentarily before scooting towards the end of the bed. DEC laughs a bit a Strawberry Cookie who is visibly scared, and asks if she's lost the will and determination she showed mere moments ago. I wake up at this point and am left with far more questions than answers.

Well this has been an interesting experiment of sorts. I knew my lineart had changed since then because it was an active choice to add more line weight variation. I didn't realize how much my coloring had changed though. My colors are still pretty bright, but they were a lot more saturated then.

Redraw of Pomni and Caine in the Void scene from episode 1. The shading was done in a way to mimic the 3d shading of the show but without blending anything. It's basically got really intense and oddly shaped cel shading.

This was fucking insane of me to do btw. I tried my damn best to copy the palette and level selector as close as I possibly could. Some parts were traced (like the numbers) but a lot was hand drawn.

I could have stylized it, but nooo it had to be as accurate as possible!
