It's too busy with tourists now. I went about 20 years ago and was so much better. Crowds spoil it. Venture out to the wines areas of Tuscany. Small villages are a great experience.

How does that make them the sporting capital? They can't match Melbourne in key sporting events that happen. Spring carnival, Australian open, Phillip Island motorbike race, grand prix, Boxing day test , AFL grand final list goes on. All events are usually attended in huge numbers.

Vietnam 10 years Afghanistan longer. Lost more than Australia sent to Vietnam. Not trained for jungle war, unlike the Aussies. Kids straight out of college. Heard lots of stories about them making noise.
