An international team of scientists, including @westernu.ca Physics and Astro professor Stan Metchev recently published an article on the discovery of dust storms on a 'Super Jupiter'-sized low-mass brown dwarf, orbiting a nearby star.

Today the Blue Skies Space Mauve satellite successfully launched aboard SpaceX Transporter-15!

Mauve is on a 3-year mission to study stars + how their activity affects the habitability of exoplanets with support from @westernu.ca Physics + Astro prof Aaron Sigut.

A year and a half ago, I attended an Earth Observation workshop sponsored by @westernuspace.bsky.social. There was a talk about tornadoes that got me thinking - could we detect and characterize tornado tracks with synthetic aperture radar?

An international team of nearly 100 researchers, including @westernu.ca adjunct professor Auriane Egal + professor Denis Vida published the first-ever comprehensive study of an asteroid's journey from space down to impact on earth. ☄️
