Black Friday ⬛️🚫? No, it's Leafy Friday! 🍃✅

A special day to read & write on Leaflet 😍

Right now the best way to support us is to:

📖 explore what people are publishing — see leaflet.pub/discover & Bluesky feeds on our profile

📝 write something — make a publication, or [new!] publish a looseleaf!

pls pls pls fill out the poll! we'd love the feedback :)
🚨Feature Fridays 🚨

this is rad!
Hey, I just launched an app called Antler. The app showcases how we can rebuilt WeChat Mini Apps, but using open web standards.

Would recommend this as a launch strategy! It was quite straightforward to wire up a firehose listener to our existing infra afterwards. Basically just a lightweight controller that does some validation on the events then literally calls the same methods to do all the semble stuff

Also built a real backend for this page now! It's a tiny little Go server that indexes records you make (but only ones made through the app for now)

Stole @cosmik.network's approach here, it's remarkably effective. Thanks for the code, friends!

Any takers?
If anyone builds a Raindrop importer, please @ me! 🤲

I’ll be sembling so hard once I’ve brought over my 7k bookmarks.
4/ Want to integrate Semble with your personal bookmark managers (Raindrop, etc)? Now you can! We've published a lightweight PDS client purpose-built for working with Semble records. Check our docs to get started! docs.cosmik.network/semble/devel...

I really love this feature! It's a great way to discover new content ppl have curated to Semble
6/ Also - the Semble page now has a "Similar Cards" tab that surfaces semantically similar URLs from across the network. A whole new way to explore connections!

Leaflet now has notifications! We announced here earlier but hadn't added the lab note :)

Notifs for post comments, replies, new pub subscribers — in-app for now but we'd like to add other channels

Let us know what you think! Right now most useful for comments…but got other things in mind too ✨

Made a collection inspired by this, for @leaflet.pub x atproto community tinkering!

Lots of cool integrations & interop & experiments — from other apps rendering leaflet posts to cross-posting and import tools and markdown pipelines, even leaflet as headless CMS for an *atprotated* website :)

As a design principle, we should represent what a record is accurately. It would be deceiving to render a monomark bookmark as a Semble card (unless you had copied the external record into a new Semble card). An example of this is Popfeed shows bookhive records, but it is unclear which are which.

“Don’t get mad, get busy!” Love this attitude!
Don't get mad, get busy!

Which pieces of the memex concept do you miss the most?

Do you have a vision of what an implementation for those pieces might look like? Are there ways to get there incrementally, or is this a chicken/egg situation?

Saved a podcast episode to Semble and realized @ronentk.me already saved it a few days ago.

So cool to have access to these shared attention signals.

This is only the start but I can already feel the collective intelligence emerging.

Really fun metacollection pattern by @hilarybaumann.com until we have both Semble account and collection following!

This does in fact get a little circular and confusing BUT I did actually want to bookmark certain accounts so I could come back and look at their collections.

Chatted with an OG Internet guy at the @atproto.boston meetup today.

Asked him about the last time he saw so much community excitement and engagement for a protocol.

He said http and html.
