Chairman Fred Hampton would certainly agree with this assessment.
This is the attitude of the soldier. Not in combat? Not on duty? Fall down and sleep because you never know when you're going to get another chance.
Worst roads would have to be Indiana, though that's more crappy construction/repair than potholes.
Campaign #36 is in the books. Only 5wks so I could get a break before early September Dr's appt. Made pretty good money. PS steer tire cupped all to shit though so that's money I didn't get to take home.

Too damn hot in TX as usual. Finally got to Rock City IL.

First song of the new campaign augurs well for smooth sailing.

Heading to Michigan with a load of some bullshit. 🤣

Worth noting this is EXACTLY the same argument living wage advocates employ.

When people complain that raising working class wages will drive up retail prices activists invariably respond that the C-suite and investors can simply not extract so much money to cover the difference.
Trump demands that Walmart “EAT THE TARIFFS” and not raise prices
Yellow trucks are the intelligent choice. High albedo, high visibility even in low-light or foggy conditions, and definitely NOT a white Volvo. 😁
Unblockable at the Bosselman in Grand Island. 600mi day. Finna' roll inside for some chow and to hit up the vape shop.

Wind's picking up. Gonna be nice to be rocked to sleep tonight.

'Follow' by Richie Havens. Reminds me of my daughter.
Dinner last night at the Prime terminal grill in Springfield, MO. Barbacoa and rice bowl. $7. It was delicious.
Campaign #34 is in the books. Got some of those long loads I like (San Antonio to Minneapolis; St Louis to Denver). Made good money this go-around. Trucking volume and rates appear to be picking up just in time for summer.

If I'm reading this situation correctly the son/daughter and spouse of a Schneider driver brought his granddaughter to the truck stop to get some hang time with Poppop in the lot.

He adores her; can't stop smiling at her.

The things we do...that we endure.

Great fucking soundtrack to that film.
Fucking company tried to get me to haul a heavy load from Laredo to Oxnard in 3d for $1/mi.

Predictably I called bullshit on that.

Now I'm hauling 10k# of fancy-boy Starbucks food from San Antonio to Minneapolis for a rate that at least hits my Mendoza line ($2/mi).

TIL about 'outlaw lesbians.' 🤣
Great book by the way, and a valuable counterpoint/addition to Mark Lanegan's memoir 'Sing Backwards and Weep.'
Martin is a phenomenal drummer. The perfect mix of raw bombastic power and finesse. Not to slight Mark Pickerel (an insanely talented individual) but the Trees' sound improved dramatically after Barrett Martin signed on.
NOTE FOR NEW CDL HOLDERS:

The guy who completely blocks a busy yard to open his trailer doors instead of laying up perpendicular to the docks and doing it before beginning to maneuver?

Yeah, rookiebro. Don't be that guy.

Never too late for chicken fried steak. 😁
That's one of the criteria, yes. Less than a .25mi walk.
That's a link to my Trucker Chow GMap, BTW.
