there is something off about this design - it's the vertical text alignment

this new CSS feature just made aligning text 100x easier

Here’s a recreation of Wes’s demo that also shows the “Inset-Modified Containing Block” (IMCB) when hovering an anchored item. The IMCB is shown in hotpink.

codepen.io/bramus/pen/r...

Within that IMCB, you can use align-self / justify-self to position the blue box within it.

(Why)? does CSS anchor not have a position-area for the inside corners?

You need to switch to a totally different approach using inset values if you need that.

As far as I understand position-area is a helper for common uses. Must have a reason?

did something change with CSS anchor position-try-fallback?

My demos where the tooltip flipped inline don't seem to work. Other demos seem to flip, but not flip back when space is available

I challenged my two friends to order a pizza with code.

CJ reverse engineered the GraphQL API

Scott built a Pizza MCP

and I built a voice agent that can make calls

These displays are so good.

Been running the 4:3 BenQ for about a year and they just sent me the 32” to replace my big bezel LG 32”

Colors are great and text is super crispy

The badges at GitHub universe this year are nuts!

Color screen, wifi, Bluetooth. Powered by a raspberry pi 2350 / @pimoroni.com

I tried my hand at building an app on the way home.

This Lando Norris website is insane

I dove into the code and broke it all down. Some really neat 3D effects along with scrolling and next level animations

Don't [...spread] or .split() your strings!

Use Intl.Segmenter API. Available in every JS runtime

This weekend at the mall with my kids, one one of you (Trevor?) came up to me and said "Hey Wes, love your stuff!"

My kids won't stop talking about it and now think I am the coolest most famous person on earth.

Thank you

Obfuscating text with local LLMs + CSS highlight API

needed a way after having to blur my address in the Pizza video

Uses Chrome's experimental LanguageModel API to prompt a local v3Nano

Kinda slow, but makes me think of new possibilities when prompting on-device will be fast + free + private

CJ just one-shotted a 15 min rant and it's incredibly refreshing.
