We’re especially proud of our Medical Coordinator Midwife Monica Akello, who recently presented at a regional conference as both a healthcare professional and as a survivor. The story of her personal journey highlighted the importance of early detection and responsive care.

May was Pre-eclampsia Awareness Month in Uganda, a vital step in recognizing one of the main causes of maternal/newborn morbidity and mortality. WOtW is using this moment to reinvigorate knowledge by rolling out refresher training on the WHO Pre-eclampsia/Eclampsia program across Gulu District.

Recently, we celebrated International Midwife Day to honor those who stand at the heart of maternal and newborn care.

In Uganda, an awareness march brought midwives and partners together to connect and advocate.
