Our researchers have received over £1m from World Cancer Research Fund to improve breast cancer treatment.

They aim to measure body composition of patients to help personalise treatments and make them more effective.

As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of breast cancer treatment, I understand how rough it can be and how difficult it is to get doses right. Currently, a lot of patients find chemotherapy courses very challenging, and we can’t always know when more targeted treatments might be appropriate.

From today new laws in England will restrict promotion of products high in fat, sugar & salt – banning "buy one get one free" deals: major progress for health equity.

With obesity linked to 13 types of cancer, the government needs to help make healthy foods affordable and accessible for all.

the UK government must implement mandatory guidelines, aligned with international standards such as those of the World Health Organization, to make meaningful progress towards their stated aim of raising the healthiest generation ever.

Today the UK government published new voluntary guidelines on commercial baby food intended for children up to 36 months. They aim to reduce the levels of salt and sugar in these products and make labelling clearer to support parents.

The foods children eat in their early years fundamentally shape their long-term health, well-being, and life outcomes – including when it comes to cancer prevention.

We welcome the government’s recognition that the healthiness of commercial baby food needs to be improved, and that identifying healthy products must be easier for parents.
