My name's Taylor! I love pharmacy, books, video games, and cats! Especially my cats. BlueSky, meet Winnie and Charlie! 🐈
Starting the year with a re-read (so I can jump into the 2nd book for the first time).

1 of 3: The themes from Wicked have had me thinking a lot today.

... yet another school shooting, 2 days after the 12th anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy. This time, in my home of 6 years, Madison, WI. The repercussions of how we [fail to] dwell on and respond to "historic" events.
I keep thinking about that scene in Wicked when Dr. Dillamond is teaching the history of Animal rights, and somebody in the class whines, "Why don't you teach us history instead of dwelling on the past?" It feels so on the nose right now.

This photo captures a hard-at-work employee reminding you that, "What is familiar is not always safe."

Make sure YOU have the best prescription for success by talking about OTC safety with a pharmacist or credible resource like medlineplus.gov/ency/patient...

The holidays are tough... especially in community pharmacies [healthcare + retail = 😨].

I still love this 2023 NIOSH Science Blog: Help for the Holidays: Preventing Fatigue, Violence, and Stress in Retail

AMAZING first slide from Callie Walsh-Bailey at #DIScience24 ! #academyhealth should start selling “We ❤️ TMFs” and “I ❤️ TMFs” merch!

When thinking about the pace of #DIScience24 , how do we deal with distractions of new frameworks and models and desire to quickly build new catapults and bridges?
- @jhfordii.bsky.social

Such a good question! It’s tempting to follow the newest “perfect” framework and restart all over again.

UW Madison School of Pharmacy faculty, staff, & graduate students have approximately 10 presentations and posters at the Academy Health #DIScience24 Conference! Look for our sessions on complex implementation strategies, OTC meds for older adults, a nationally recognized COPD EBP and FRAM modeling.

#DIScience24 #academyhealth one of the best sessions I could attend as a junior faculty member doing implementation science. IS requires flexibility, open communication, and DOCUMENTATION!

Let's talk numbers: To date, since Oct 25th, we have found 395,000 Bluesky posts that link to a research paper or other research object that has a scholarly identifier like a DOI, PubMed ID, URN etc

This is enormously high for a platform that has only been open since Feb to general sign-ups.

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Okay, Spotify... "scream, journaling, crying" seems a little too specific. 😂 No need to call me out like that.

Health Tech! We’re always talking about how to optimize machine learning in health care. 🤔
So great to hear @jonbois.bsky.social ‘s perspective! 😂
Today on Bluesky, the hot topic of the day is data scraping. Are your posts being scraped to train machine learning algorithms? Should you be concerned? And what can you do about it? I'm here to break it all down on today's episode of the Bluesky Tech Minute:

Op-Ed from @rachelfadler.bsky.social "Teaching accessible design early can help students enter the workforce with a mindset that values inclusivity."
💭 So much of UX is the LACK of accessibility, esp. in healthcare! Excited for future designers with comp sci edu that values inclusivity from start!

I saw this and laughed out loud! 🤣 My research looks at Occupational Fatigue (closely related to Burnout 😉) but with my love of Disney, Muppets, AND occupational working conditions, this was too good not to share. [Sorry I couldn’t find the OP to give credit.]
