Though the secondary couple storyline was not my fave in The Insatiable Man, I kinda appreciate that for once the author didn't try to salvage Jiho and Chungi's friendship. It's kinda regrettable but at least they got their separate happy endings
Since Chiang says his name refers to the number 6, it makes sense 陸 would be pronounced "Liu", right??

Except in the epilogue Gigi calls him a "Little Deer" (Xiao Lu) which is clearly a pun on the other reading of 陸 (Lu)??

Fuck should I just change his name to Chiang Lu 😭
Ahhh why am I having I have a dilemma over how MC's name is romanised at this time?? There's dialogue suggesting it could be either way too 😭
Since Yen Press licensed The Gay Who Turned Kaiju, can they also license the author's most well-known BL manga Kabe Koji 😭
It really is unfortunate trans men aren't welcomed in BL. I really want a trans version of the homophobic "straight" top x gay bottom chase arc BL but Western readers will definitely blast it for being problematic lmaoo
If anyone questions it... well, you're asking why trans people have gender dysphoria?

I already do my best to filter out novels myself by asking online though (though even then 50% of recs I get are inaccurate 😅 )
People on twt think it's absurd to be bothered by top/bottom/vers positions, but I actually have a squick related to that. I don't like seeing trans men bottom and trans women top especially with their natal genitals (unless it's gay T4T, but they must still have strict roles)
Should I translate it as "authentic" or "ownmost" self 😭.... decisions
Reading about Heidegger to translate omegaverse novel
The two new 5SOS songs (NOT OK and Boyband) are such bangers I became a fan

Nope. Nope. Nope.
Not cool.
Not here.
Not ever.

We will keep working with real translators and narrators (and artists and proofreaders and authors and...) without any of this "AI" bullshit.
The 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair heard that developments in AI audiobooks mean publishers will no longer have to decide whether to translate a book, but instead just choose which market to translate into 👇 #FBM25
AI audio means publishers ‘don’t have to choose whether to translate, only which market’, FBF hears

Turns out the title does not refer to the MC "rage pooping", but MC imagining birds "rage pooping" on him lmao
Ooh it got a manga adaptation that began recently too. Glad to see them both drawn pretty 😌
MC happens to be reborn in the weaker country losing in the war. ML is disguised as a princess and still 15 while MC is 25, so there's nothing romantic between them yet. It also surprised me MC figured out the prince was crossdressing quite early and knew it wasn't his place to say anything
Transmigrators being rare but a widely-known thing in the world is probably the most interesting part. Transmigrators have right to association as outsiders, but everyone wants to have transmigrators on their side so they can harness their abilities especially during wartime.
Caught up with the serialisation of Finding My Way to (You) in This MMO World with my J-Novel subscription and it's quite interesting so far.

With how typical colourism is, it's nice to see a dark-skinned MC for once who is considered attractive but not in the "beastly" way
I just don't like when villain transmigrations flip the script and turn OG!MCs into villains. It makes it no different from the OG story? Not to mention they also pulled the stupid "Actually the transmigrator IS the OG character's soul" twist. Really, what was the point of transmigration in this?
Moreover, this is NOT a regression but a transmigration! The appeal of transmigration is about having a modern outsider grapple with the foreign world, but it's like the modern narrator is completely usurped by the OG character's mental state. MC is the novel's AUTHOR too
I flipped to the end hoping to see MC's "belief" due to his trauma would be "proven false", but no it seems OG!MC and ML end up as actually bad people who get punished, so I dropped it. I find it difficult to root for that kind of MC, and it seems he won't have much growth throughout
