My personal opinion is that Xela is a great place to learn Spanish. It's spoken more slowly there so easier to pick up, because K'iche Mayan is the native language, Spanish second.
Also, less touristy, and some absolutely stunning views there. (I have a couple of videos up from there too! ✌️

Momostenango was a place that I wanted to visit initially, because of its name. At least 90% of the reason, anyway. It sounded intriguing, mysterious, and it wasn’t somewhere I normally heard people talk about in Guatemala.
