Unlike most cities in Europe, Porto has an ageing fleet of private cars.
Most are in the 15 to 20 years old bracket. I love that because new cars are unnecessarily expensive and so unreliable.
But these older beauties have really caught my eye over the last two days.

Last night's refreshments before dinner.... though I usually end up on whatever is the locally brewed beer, aperol spritz is a holiday tradition in every country I visit.

Beautiful sunrise this morning in Porto.

Porto is a mecca for shite old cars.
So far, this early 1990's Ford Transit is my favourite.
It's parked up the back of São Bento Train Station, and it looks like it hasn't moved for a few years.
The area is a bit run down here.... maybe this old Tranny is some poor soul's abode.

First impressions of Porto.
The Airbnb is very spacious.
Was up at 5 am so this bed is calling.
But I'll head out again after sundown for some local liquid libation.

Not how I planned to spend my day off.
Tumble dryer needed a thorough cleaning from years of dog hair.
The good people at Bosch don't like plebs doing their own servicing , so I had to buy special screw bits to remove the panels.

Sometimes I look in Marley's bowl and wonder if he's eating enough... he only seems to forage when I'm not looking at him.
But then I remember he gets his own fillet chicken separately cooked ( minus the herbs in ours)
almost every day.
He's worth it 🐕‍🦺

The last time I used a pay phone, I was 17, and I used a discretely located one near my home to ring premium rate numbers from the back of a magazine called Buy & Sell to hook up with other local closeted gays 😆.
Before Grindr existed this method was too expensive for timewasters or ghosting!
I just saw someone using a pay phone.

Nestled beneath the Dartry mountains is the Gleniff Horseshoe, a ten kilometre narrow road that offers stunning views of Benbulben and Truskmore mountains in County Sligo.
Yesterday was very misty and the beautiful scenery was almost invisible.

Some pictures from our drive up the Gleniff Horseshoe in rural County Sligo this morning.
Heavy mist and rain is covering the mountains and views but the area is still stunning.

Near Carrowkeel, County Sligo.
This is home for the bank holiday weekend.
A short term let that allows dogs 😍.
Perfect base to explore some of the scenery around Sligo over the next two days.

Voting is underway across the country to elect Ireland's next President.
The President is the head of State, and while they have little to no power in the running of the country, they perform important functions under the Constitution.
There'll be no "country pursuits" in the Park if my vote counts.
