Want a break from the budget? Good news! Across Europe, there are zebra crossings at side roads. They make it clear that people walking and wheeling have priority, rather than stopping every few metres. In the UK, governments haven't officially allowed them - until today 🧵

This week's Route of the Week takes us along the north Welsh coast, from Rhos-On-Sea to Pensarn.

The 7-mile, largely traffic free route, runs along the wide sea promenade at Colwyn Bay, with fantastic views along the coast and up towards the hills inland. 🌊🌿

⚠️ Route closure at Skelton Lake, Leeds ⚠️

Please note that the western path at Skelton Lake is currently closed while it is being resurfaced by Leeds City Council. There is a diversion in place using the path to the east of the lake.

Satwant uses the National Cycle Network to lead group rides for his cycling group. He describes his local routes as ‘magic’ and truly believes that the Network has helped his cycling group to thrive.

But these beautiful paths require constant care and costly maintenance.
