I think TK wants someone to do what Mercedes is doing, but with bigger promotions. Multiple championships spread over CMLL/NJPW/AEW. The Unified Championship might come back with all three promotions having a stake in it. Wrestling never restarts, so sometimes you have confusing transition periods.

Hangman, Toni and Mercedes have lost 5 World Championship matches since All In. “It’s what you do the next day” AEW uses their whole roster to tell stories and not just separate stand alone feuds. Hangman vs Joe isn’t a single story you like or dislike. It’s part of a much bigger book.

The Elite are reuniting as a down on their luck family that need each other. I think Hangman as a victorious champ at the top doesn’t work well with that story. A Hangman that has lost the title once again and spiraled the last time it happened, fits it perfectly. #AEW

Excited to see Hangman be the first AEW champion outside of Mox to lose the title and not be immediately written off.

I will actually be disappointed if Mercedes does not count this as an additional title. Rage bait is a huge part of this run and it’s only fitting that when it’s done, there is a Flair like uncertainty/debate over the actual number of titles. #AEW
