Sometimes I what I would do if I got into university now. I feel pretty overwhelmed by engaging with new information from fields I'm not used to and I don't think that's been the case 10 years ago.
This is not a "students today" post--it's more "this is a new form of dysfunction" that doesn't look exactly like it's been in previous decades. It's more than just "first-year chaos." It's an across-the-board inability to process instructions, engage with longer texts, and *connect* with others.

Was sitting there with two European tourists at a hotel. One instantly recognized the Team Galactic logo on my phone, the other thought Pikachu and Pokémon were synonyms, so the existence of Oshawott came as a shock.

Today's manga: Ikkyū Kenchikushi Kanako no Sekkei Shikō by Kino Hitoshi. It's about a 27 year old architect who moved from Aomori to Tokyo and loves alcohol. I just had to look at the cover and knew "This guy started as ero mangaka", and that's literally the first thing written in his Twitter bio.
