I just remembered one time where I was comparing near-death stories with another adventurer, and I'd just gotten through like, a fifth of my tragic backstory bullshit, and she just looked me dead in the eye and said "Oi! You're really a fuckin' cockroach motherfucker ain't you?!"

I still laugh.
((Omg, the original SS? Have you played the 3DS games? They really improve on things a lot and have more styles available! The original is the only one I've *not* played, funny enough! ))
((Holy shit. I'm so sorry this all hit you at once! Like that it hit at all is horrible, but this is just... I hope things get better, and soon. Please, prioritise your care, okay? I'll be hoping for you.))
[She then looks up to him, eyes still practically glittering from getting to talk about pokemon to someone.]

So? What do you think? Any questions? Comments? So-on-and-so-forth?
Gaze upon the glory of Sylveon! Slayer of dragons! And a being capable of calming basically all tensions if you let it touch you with its feelers! Honestly they're really chill, and probably the most commonly seen in competitive. NOT usually pacifists, despite the ability to calm others unwillingly.
[A little more tapping]

Last is another pokemon that's kinda hard to explain... Because it's another pokemon that evolves via bonds, but there's other things that need to be involved? Like commonly using fairy type moves? But it's still under study *why* that matters.
[Tap!]

And Glaceon! These guys can be pretty dangerous even by pokemon standards, able to make the air around them drop to 75F below zero. That said, most of the time they just like to be cozy. They don't like being too hot, but are fine with a blanket. If they don't want to be touched, you'll know
Leafeon!

While they can eat food, they often photosynthesize! They're also known to be great pets for people who are ill, or who need especially clean air! They either love baths, or hate them - no in-between. They're also great emotional support pets, as mostly pacifist pokemon.
That is to say: *Scientists* were. Because it meant we have a whole new field trying to find out why one region's ice stones work, but another's doesn't. Same for a few other things, but that's nothing to do with eevee.

Anyway, look at this fella!
[Tap!]
See, most pokemon that evolve by stone, it doesn't matter how 'strong' the stone is, so long as it qualifies as the type of stone in question, it works. So when people found out that ice stones and leaf stones in Galar and Paldea allowed the evolution, people were in an UPROAR.
Up next are two pokemon who have some interesting evolution properties based on region. For some reason, the leaf and ice stones in most regions don't evolve them, and instead they evolve around incredibly powerful boulders that give off the same energy... But More.
Aaaand [Tap] Umbreon!

It evolves at night, and is seen as a direct counterpart to espeon. It's a dark type, and one fun thing is it was almost categorised as a poison type because it can spray toxins at enemies. Ultimately, it has none of the weaknesses of the poison type though, so Dark only.
[Tappa tap!]

This here is espeon! It evolves from bonds during the day. It's a psychic type and can predict the weather. It's common knowledge that if your espeon brings you an umbrella, it's going to rain or snow! They have modest precognition in general, too!
Friendship evolutions are *much* more common with trainers though. Estimates claim that for Espeon and Umbreon alone, more than 99.5% of all of them are evolved from trainer-held eevee. One of the original proofs that bonds with pokemon make them stronger.
The next two discovered evolved via affection. I'll show them to you in a sec, but basically, some pokemon will evolve when they're happy enough with their trainer, and while they *can* be found in the wild now and again, no one really knows what the evolution trigger is there?
[Tap tap!]

And this? This is a Jolteon! They're known to be zoomy little guys who really, really like to run around. Known to be able to absorb massive amounts of electricity, and thereby be static hell, but also, they're so cute no one really minds, you know?
Behold! A Vaporeon! As you can no doubt tell, this one is a water type. It's known to be a little mischievous, like in a gremlin vibes sort of way. They love to just sit in cold baths for hours, turning transparent in a way so it looks like just a bath of water. Gets insulted when the bath is done.
Anyway, evolution, E-V, eevee. We do call its evolutions Eeveelutions though! Well, where I'm from. Plenty of others call them Veevees!

Anyway SO. The first three discovered were Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon!

[She starts typing away aaaand.]
It was thusly named the evolution pokemon! Er, most pokemon have a title - some overlap, like, two completely different families of canine pokemon called "the fox pokemon" - but it's usually not a massive numbers in one category thing.
[Oh, oh oh!! How she lit up!!]

Okay so, I feel like you're more familiar with my world than I noticed, because that's not too far off!

Eevee was actually named after evolution - it was the first pokemon discovered to have a branch evolution.
Like obviously, based on how the fight is going. But even if I can't, being able to use distance from the ground as a weapon is worth investing in. And I am not a stranger to weaving my attack types, so it's not ruling out other forms of style switching.
Like, you've seen me use Dancer weapons, but I also have these things that let me switch rapidly between 'gear sets'. They're hard to use in the middle of a fight, and most people can't pull it off, but I'm pretty sure I *can*. So, I'm wondering if I can switch between the two rapidly.
I should also like, show you my progress in how I go along! You probably will know things that will be helpful for adapting styles.

One reason I asked about the compactification thing is I'm kinda thinking of rapid-switch?
Consider me interested! I have no idea what I'm going to excel in with this, to be honest, so an immediate introduction may not be the most beneficial at the moment, but even if I turn out to be more efficient at the plain old impalement from above technique, I'm always down to learn more!
((Sorry for the wait! I'm finally going through my tabs now that my brain isn't as empty!))
Being up front sometimes got people to push back, to insist they were being pitied. But other times, the being up front about things gave people something they could hold on to without worrying there were expectations they couldn't match. It all depended on the person, and situation.
