I feel silly bringing it up because I feel like this discussion has been made to death, but it hasn't stopped being any less true. The irony of Disney, despite having a million billion dollars, being completely unable to recapture the VHS era on a fraction of their budget, is wild.

Rewatching some old Disney movies on VHS, and here's an observation: Before each of them runs a few ads for other products, usually other Disney movies... And it's wild how openly Proud they were of their theatrical releases back then, in a way that feels absolutely impossible today.

The political abstraction of the original meaning of "Antifa" is the exact same thing that happened to the word "Woke". To be "Woke" is to be "Awake". "Aware of your surroundings". To "Know things".
To be against "Woke" is to literally say "I prefer not understanding things".

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

A PSA: If you own a PSP, check on its battery! Mine was dangerously swollen and I wouldn't've noticed if it weren't for the fact that it was SO swollen it forced the battery cover off on its own. Crisis Averted!

The GASP I made when I saw the "Hi-Fi" text. I just said "fuck it I'm gonna just use the paper method like 10 times and see if it makes a difference". It did???? I Fixed my VCR??????? I can watch ICE AGE on VHS again????? 🎉🎉🎉❓❓❓

I wouldn't call this a huge success, but this is a good good sign. The VCR is making a kinda buzzing noise and there's a chance that's related to the Hi-Fi audio not working, no idea where to look next to resolve that though

GOOD NEWS: The picture is back!! The Printer Paper method did, in fact, work... But not after several minutes of not being able to figure out how to use the spray bottle (I still don't think I used it right). THE BAD NEWS is I'm back to the first issue: The Hi-Fi audio isn't working

I think I might have to resort to my hail mary fix attempt: Finally just buy a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol and just do the Printer Paper method in case a proper clean ends up working. This requires the shops to be open and for it to not be raining, both of which are not true.

...I do not want to be staring directly at this VCR until it does something to this tape. It has done nothing for almost 10 minutes now. Is it fine now??? Did it fix itself???? I have no idea

It left little drag lines on the tape. Unsure as to what exactly caused this to happen, I will let the tape play again to see if I can potentially catch it

Okay so I plugged in the second VCR, took the top off and, I've chosen a copy of Rugrats in Paris as the test tape (because for unexplained reasons we own two copies). Played the tape fine but then spontaneously the tape came loose?? I was ready to hit stop so it didn't do much thankfully

After some thinking I realize there is a second solution... I could potentially plug in the second VCR in the house. This VCR has, in a little bit of testing, scratched tapes. IF, perchance, I can figure out WHY the tapes were scratched (and fix it), this would work out as an alternative

Now..... Did I use Alcohol Wipes instead of the "Printer Paper method" as recommended by 90% of the tutorial videos I found to clean the heads? ...............................................................Perhaps! But Nonetheless!!!!!

The worst part? I wanted to clean the heads so that I could get the Hi-Fi audio to work. It didn't! The audio isn't even Hi-Fi!!!
