Trump begins mass layoffs amid US budget impasse
The American government began, this Saturday (11), to fire federal employees amid the partial shutdown of the public system, which has lasted ten days. The measure, announced by the White House, is part of President Donald Trump's strategy to pressure Congress to end the so-called shutdown, caused by the lack of approval of the federal budget. According to the government, more than 4,000 employees from seven agencies, including Health, Education and Treasury, received layoff notices.
