In 1997, SNK announced an open casting call through Neo Geo Freak magazine for the role of Yuki, Kyo's girlfriend, in The King of Fighters '97. Additionally, randomly selected readers of the magazine were invited to serve as live judges for the finals.

i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!

Flavor Text: I never thought I'd find myself defending Larry like this again, but I'll do everything I can to help him—he says he's innocent, and I believe him. Still, Maya's... "C'mon, Nick! Let's go!" She's trying even harder than usual... I wonder what's up with her. Phoenix Wright looking exasperated as Maya & Pearl look energetic, looking at the statue of Cody (Final Fight/Street Fighter). Green slime can be seen to the side of the fountain. Investigating is a major part of the Ace Attorney series' gameplay loop, being the other half of when you're not debating in court. Investigations typically have Nick and Maya looking around crime scenes and speaking to potential witnesses. While you play as Phoenix, Maya is always present, being Phoenix's assistant. If you're like me though, you can often get stuck without any progress for a while, which this card’s name and Nick’s face remind me of… Phoenix's mention of defending Larry is a reference to how Nick defended him in his very first case as an attorney. In context of this card pack, Nick’s begun his proper investigation of the crime.

Flavor Text: A strange T-shirt found in the locker in the security guards' room. It's covered in bizarre illustrations. There was an absurd number of these T-shirts...were they intended for sale? Maya Fey (Ace Attorney) holding up a t-shirt showing Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter) uppercutting a Brachydios (Monster Hunter). In context of the card pack, Dan Hibiki's working as a security guard at Central Park in order to help offset his massive debt. In a get-rich-quick scheme, Dan decided to strike a deal with Larry Butz to let him fight in the Steel Samurai Show that was set to happen, with one of the opponents being the terrifying Brachydios, deciding capitalize on his (what he assumed would be) success by selling merch. Phoenix & Maya are investigation around the security room, having found boxes upon boxes of unsold shirts. Poor guy…
