Couldn’t imagine letting someone who doesn’t pay my bills pressure me into feeling bad about what I like.
I think some people are also scared to explore outside mainstream art because they might encounter something they fall in love with, but no one they know likes it. They don't want to be embarrassed or cringe or whatever by being the outsider.
