The Boston College Prison Education Program celebrated its second class of graduates with an inspiring commencement ceremony at MCI-Shirley. Four students (and one service dog) donned caps and gowns to receive their BC diplomas. 🎓

During Ireland's War of Independence, young Peter often “ran despatches” to various persons and units of the IRA. Peter’s role, his Commanding Officer wrote, was “…to visit the village and keep the local Volunteers in touch with the movements of the 'Tans' ”.

In 1985, the 1st edition of 'Guide to the Boston Irish' was published by Quinlin Campbell Publishers. The Guide was expanded in 1987 as 'Guide to the New England Irish' + a 3rd edition was published in 1994. @bostonglobe.com @publisherswkly.bsky.social irishboston.blogspot.com/2025/09/guid...

The first chapter is set in the small Irish town of Miltown Malbay in the West of County Clare. The chapter takes its’ theme from a beautiful phrase written by the grand Irish poet William Butler Yeats: “My children may find here deep-rooted things:”
