I can't prove it yet, but every unidentified gunman tied to political violence is or was a member of the local police force working as mercenaries for these political dynasties.

I saw someone's hot take that the MAKABAYAN and the National Democratic Movement should start fielding in LGUs to end political dynasties.

The problem with this is that political dynasties are notorious for political violence, especially during election season. (See Maguindanao Massacre)
Honest question, but what makes INC not a cult?
I agree with what several others have said about the so-called Emman Atienza Bill, na aabusuhin lang ito ng mga pulitikong balat-sibuyas at andami pa nila. Huwag na nating bigyan ng safeguards ang mga korap, lalo na't maari nila gamiting excuse ang mental health para sa sakim nilang gawain.
I don't think the Catholic Church priests understand that the point of wearing scary costumes during Halloween is to scare the evil spirits away.
May history remember Samuel Martires and Jose Calida for their corruption, crookedness, cruelty, and callousness.
There's a place in hell for lawyers that bend the law to protect the corrupt and powerful. As Shakespeare once wrote, "the Devil can cite Scripture for his purpose."
Generationally-garbage run 💀
Samuel Martires was a terrible government official.
I've been researching so much about cities that I'm beginning to get exhausted, switching from one research to another. Went from doing research on Seoul and Taipei to Kathmandu to Baguio to Quezon City AND Kathmandu.

MANILA, Philippines — Eight out of 10 Filipinos are for democracy but only 4 out of the same number are satisfied with how it works in dealing with the country's problems, according to OCTA Research.

But also, the film leads to discourse on governance between the American colonial government and the local political elites, with the former being geopolitical in nature. Either way, neither governments would have reformed the governance system to be representative of the Filipino masses.
One of the fascinating aspects of the Quezon film was the idea of rural Filipino farmers having a poor understanding of independence. To this day, I still question whether we deserved our independence, considering the prevalence of predatory political dynasties that exploit the masses.
Hoy, Sandiganbayan! Walang kwenta yung prosecution team niyo!
Is there an AI that identifies troll accounts and fake news peddlers on social media websites, like Facebook and Twitter? We gotta use these types of tech to dismantle the true cancer of social media.
Itong ABS-CBN, hilig na hilig magcover kay Barzaga. Itigil niyo na yan.

So until they understand this situation, which continues to pervade our national politics, I can never take any of these peers seriously with their highly Westernized but lackluster understanding of our national and local politics.
Political dynasties and landed elites in the Philippines participate in monopolizing local government elections, rent-seeking, and landgrabbing. They also use their political powers to benefit their family businesses. Some even engage in warlordism.
I believe political dynasties play a huge role in radicalizing people to join insurgent groups. Sure, Marxist-Leninist ideologies may play a role, but I think the excesses and exploitations of political dynasties and landed elites are central to this radicalization.
Some of my Filipino peers, who talk about ideologies like Communism in their online political ramblings, have never brought up political dynasties whenever they discuss the Philippines or any news involving radical communists. That's why I can never take their politics seriously.
Muntik ko nang makalimutan pero may cameo si CongTV sa Quezon 💀💀💀
I'm not even surprised if this were true
When Aguinaldo kept declining his running mate's plan to use her to smear his image, I began to have some sympathy for Aguinaldo, even though I came into the Quezon movie, expecting nothing good from his character.

The Janolino scene later on made me all the more sympathetic.
Besides the plot twist with Janolino, the other scene with high tension came during the Miting de Avance when Aguinaldo was delivering his speech, and Quezon's first wife showed up. I now wonder what would've happened if Aguinaldo pushed through with calling her on stage.
