I generally believe that games should be played in their original form if you want to experience the "legitimate" version of it as an experience, a work of art, etc. but I'm also a hardcore defender of people's right to mod them for literally any reason whatsoever.

I think I dislike critics the older I get and the more art I experience, not that I think criticism is worthless or that good criticism is easy, but rather being a hater is extremely easy and pretending to be a good critic when you're just a hater is nearly worthless.

avatar prerelease was pretty good (even tho I went 1-3 cries) I got THE azula card I wanted + every other version and also just happened to get every toph card too, wild pulls at least for commander. my deck WAS good tho, it just wasn't good enough to stand up to all the really solid earthbending

I love Nier Automata's story, visuals, sound, it all comes together to be an all timer, but it is funny that the game and quest design is so whatever. I think if you catch me on a bad day I can be kind of a contrarian and call it bad but it's just ok.

thinkin' about games with random gen and meta progression that I do like, and they're good not because they're "roguelike" they're good because they're xcom lmao. darkest dungeon is good because it's turn based rpg xcom, and not because it's a "roguelike" despite folks calling it one

don't mean to vauge, but I gotta get over my pet peeve of arbitrary sighs 'cause it's usually just a learned habit from family or w/e but my gut reaction is "they're pissed off about something in the environment that is someone's fault and they don't wanna communicate it" and in turn I get pissed

kinda preaching to the choir, but every piece of news on GTA6 being some new disaster does have me hoping it'll flop. I know it won't, because gamers at large don't care as much, but I really do hope its development has been compromised just enough that it fails its own ambition at the very least.

I don't care at all for League but I tried Riftbound with roomie tonight at the LGS. it's pretty fun! and also i love our store more now ;w; the vibe is so comfortable. it's legit like. so so nice when game stores are so openly inclusive, welcoming, and employees seem happy and involved

i'm glad i'm not lactose intolerant but it's also really funny looking in the fridge rn because i've got a tub of sour cream, yogurt, and ricotta in there and then a brick of cream cheese rn like yeah ok that's just 4 different kinds of milk gloop with slightly different processes

ball x pit is cool but it suffers from the "roguelike = pick 3 things" definition of gameplay which is NOT its fault (it's a problem of culture) but is so clearly inspired by things like vampire survivors and loop hero and i so desperately want a new word for this genre.

I've never been able to precisely pinpoint my cat > dog preference because as far as the critters go, I have no issues, but I think a big one that is tangential to "cats are easier to take care of" is also "less dog owners in the world are actually qualified to own a dog"

I don't struggle to make grocery lists, I know everything I need and can juggle all the prep on how to use it all when I make a list, but I do get stunlocked by thinking ABOUT the already completed list for half an hour after.

terrible but mostly harmless (if you don't engage and get into a pissing contest with) kind of internet guy is the one that thinks exhausting the extent of their vocabulary to make the same point a dozen times in a row qualifies as worthwhile critique (lives on review sites incl. google and reddit)

the first hurdle to cooking is knowing timings for basic ingredients, the hows and whens of protein done-ness, mixed veggies, and the multitasking, but the real hill is getting over the paralysis of just putting the shit in the pan and trusting it won't burn to a crisp or taste like shit

it feels really good having 3 close friends as roomies, my previous was more of a friend-of-a-friend acquaintance and she was awesome we just didn't talk ever and issues would always boil over. i dunno.

started playing that coin flip game idly in calls and whatnot and i got the 10% ending 3 times, and am only missing one 20%... it's neat. def fully exposes my stupid achievement compulsion tho. i'm past the point of "getting it" already.
