one of the most underdiscussed aspects of wounded hands is that we never see mizuki until ena sees her and the pov shifts away from being inside her head... i feel like this really captures how horribly she was drowning in her thoughts in her isolation, and it's super impactful how after she had been 'erased' from the world in path of thorns' finale she is brought back and starts to exist again bc she was found by someone so desperate to connect with her and understand her loneliness... there's also the part where her words from the end of mizu5 play on loop backwards like intrusive thoughts, which only go silent once ena takes her hand and proclaims her desire for them to stay together, and then the ending melody plays and it feels like all that pressure is released at once and mizuki's crying goes from small and strained like she's trying to be quiet and hold those tears back so she's not taking up too much space to a full cathartic bawling... it's easy to feel dispirited over the lack of commitment due to the writing being mandated to prioritize wide appeal/gacha ambiguity and ensekai making questionable choices with their translation, but they really do a great job of creating a real sense of scene and scale to the character interactions that are normally not fully delivered by the VN format. there's so many little things that they do to emphasize the nature of mizuki's pain and fear with the camera and audio/visual cues focusing on her perspective, while also pushing themselves as a creative team with their limited narration format they have access to.
