Russian fast food chain Dodo Pizza gave the girls leggings and stockings. The "we're a family-friendly brand" excuse doesn’t really hold up: even wholesome Beard Papa's is in on the collab in the US, and over there, Anby and Burnice are bare-legged.

For me the most encouraging and uplifting thing was that Studio Ghibli, despite the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the broken diplomatic relations between our countries, still allowed the distribution of its films and did not refuse to license The Boy and the Heron to a Russian distributor.

Recently two Japanese organizations have declined our requests for interviews with figures from the anime industry, citing concerns about a possible negative reaction to such cultural exchange. Fortunately, not everyone in Japan is avoiding contact with Russia.
