Aerides houlletiana opened for the first time this week. It had several buds blast, I think from the heat. It could also be from thrips. #orchids#bloomscrolling
My Hedychium coronarium (butterfly ginger) surprised me this morning with a bloom. I didn't even see there was a bud. This is one of my favorite smelling flowers. #bloomscrolling
The 2 sections that I kept, I planted one in a clay pot & the other in plastic. They have both suffered from anthracnose but the one in the plastic pot seemed to do better. Anyway my point is that I repotted the 1 that was in plastic into plastic again, but this time I put some charcoal in the pot.
I got this Oncidium Twinkle 'Red Fantasy' in a 1" pot from Ritter Tropicals on 2/2022 at an orchid show. On 8/2023 I split it into 3 pots, and it didn't really like it. I kept 2 of the sections & I gave the other away, so I don't know how it's doing. #orchids
Moved this Rhyncattleanthe Chip Berry from pot to a tree fern plaque and this NOID Den from a kokimoss ball to a cedar plank today. We'll see how they do on their new mounts. #orchids#bloomscrolling
