SASH is pleased to announce the release of film footage of international club friendlies & indoor matches played in New York in the 1940s & 1950s. The footage of six matches was identified in the Universal Newsreel Collection at the National Archives.

Shot in 1916, this is the earliest footage of the USMNT 🇺🇸

Wearing white, a US team hastily assembled for a Scandinavian tour drew 1-1 with Stockholm Tigrarna in the opening game. John Heminsley of Kearny, NJ scored the American goal.
