There is no way that high profile credible reporters on this story can claim the high ground and live with their accusations against hegseth when the police report is not conclusive and police and prosecutors refused to charge him citing insufficient evidence.

I read it with an eye toward whether it would rise to a legal, prosecutable, charge. It doesn't. And some of her story was not plausible. She claimed to have blacked out but still managed to allege he blocked her and took her phone.
Which is it: alert or passed out? She can't be both.

She had to come up with a plausible story as to her whereabouts all night while her friends were looking for her and her husband was calling. She couldn't tell them she was with hegseth having sex. So she came up with a big lie.

People reporting this story sensationalize it instead of reporting the facts. He got drunk, had a convenient partner who flirted with him, went with him to his room, spent the night, and couldn't admit it to her friends whom she was with at the convention or explain where she had been all night.

Most people don't go to a hospital emergency unless they are injured. She was not injured. I think she went to establish evidence in support of a shake down. It's all a big lie. Her story doesn't add up to rape or even impropriety. She was along for the ride, including being on top.

I think she had two motives, one to establish an alibi to her husband and the other to shake hegseth down for cash, which she did. I do not believe it was anything but consensual and neither did the police and prosecutors.
