Canada’s top political leaders are climate deniers. There’s no such thing as “decarbonized” oil and no environmentally conscious way to increase fossil fuel production.

Mark Carney and his government are sacrificing the climate and baking in worse natural disasters in the hope of short-term profit.

No conservative Premier of Alberta has successfully completed a 4-year term since Ralph Klein in 2006.
Danielle Smith tried to sell her federal-Alberta energy deal to the UCP convention crowd: tepid applause.
She told them that this proved Canada can work well for Alberta’s interests: loud boos.

This ain’t a base that wants Smith to work with a Liberal PM on a better industrial carbon tax.

Mark Carney presents himself as the steady hand Canada needs, but his politics amount to neoliberalism with a friendlier face. Canada needs more than tinkering around the edges of capitalism—we need a government willing to confront capital itself.
I read Mark Carney’s book so you don’t have to
Fortunately, we don’t have to rely on campaign literature to discern Mark Carney’s vision for the future. The decades he’s spent in both the private sector and the public service, as well as his 2021 ...

The greatest irony of this comment is that it's actually fossil fuel companies (and the governments they've captured) who are living in the past.
