I think, were I making the Cbeebies Doctor Who, I would use the 1st Doctor and Susan and set it before An Unearthly Child. The grandfather/daughter relationship seems perfect for that demographic and it means they don't have to navigate any subsequent lore

#WishWorld was a lot of fun, although I'm really not excited about 2 returning timelord villains in the same story, as I doubt either is going to get the focus they deserve. All the connections to the other stories in this era really make this feel like Ncuti's last.

Why do the callback to The Parting of the Ways and not have The Doctor connect to Kid? I really believed he was going to realise how trauma can lead you to a dark place and that Kid needs someone to help him focus his anger in the right direction

Anyway, watch Andor, a show about revolutionaries fighting against the system. A show that highlights the terrible things you have to do for justice and how the only way to win against violent oppression is with violence, but that it has to be done to make a better life for those that come after you

I've wanted to see Susan back for a long time, but I need to wait and see what they do with her, before I decide if it's good or not. At least they got The Rani reveal out the way. The new Rani seems to admit that Mrs Flood is nothing like the character, so that's something.

The Doctor is really out of character in this one and I really hoped Belinda was going to step in and sort it, but I guess not. Does The Doctor just torture people now? Even at their lowest, when they think they've lost everything, The Doctor shouldn't torture their enemies.

I was really hoping that The Doctor might have connected with Kid and redirected his anger rather than just echoing Kerblam and going with the 'violence is always wrong' ending. Just using the contest to broadcast the song was a real cop out way to wrap it up.

I think the episode means well, and I hope it ended up being rather constrained by how it fits into the finale, rather than the plan from the beginning. Highlighting Eurovision's connection to Moroccan Oil was probably the best we could hope for,

Andor wasn't just a good Star Wars show, or a good Disney+ show, it was great television. You don't often get shows this consistently well made and I don't know if a 'franchise' will ever do so again

The Story and the Engine is 1 of the most unique Doctor Who stories I've ever seen and is a clear confirmation of the importance of diverse voices on the show. It's thematically rich and a great new direction to take the gods stuff. Jo Martin continues to be criminally underused

Episode 8 of #Andor deserves to be dwelt on. It deserves to be discussed and digested and felt. Disney releasing 3 episodes a week has done so much damage to the impact of this show

They push conspiracy theories to further their political agendas and make money, while ignoring (and even condoning) the worst aspects of these organisations.

There's plenty to criticise about UNIT (overly militarised, child labour violations, lying to the public) and the modern media landscape (pushes pro war narratives, contolled by billionaires, slop) but these people don't care about those things.

I think I have a reading on Lucky Day that I haven't seen anywhere else. UNIT is the mainstream media and Conrad is Ben Shapiro. Conrad wanted to be in UNIT but was unsuccessful, Shapiro is a failed Hollywood screen writer. Both now spend their days pushing conspiracies online.
