As Pride month begins, it’s a time to reflect, celebrate and take action. Across the UK, and around the world, Pride is needed more than ever due to the abhorrent rise of hate rhetoric that is increasingly visible.

Every day, nurses go above and beyond to provide excellent care, support patients and families and strengthen our wider community. Whilst the words don’t quite convey the strength of our gratitude, to our nurses, for all that you do - thank you.

Today is International Nurses Day - a day for us to celebrate the compassion, commitment and resilience of nurses.

A busy day for the Scotland LGBT+ Committee with delegates attending UNISON’s Scottish Council this morning, then our committee meeting in the afternoon. Important meetings to discuss policy, connect with branches and help shape the future of our union.

Our committee were saddened to hear of the death of Christina McKelvie MSP. Christina was a long term supporter of our committee and worked tirelessly for equalities. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

Our committee were saddened to hear of the passing of our former co-convenor, Lynn Sheridan.

Lynn was a friend to many and our thoughts are with her family and all who knew her.
