The Secretary-General is deeply concerned by the situation in #Tanzania following the general elections of 29 October. He calls on all stakeholders to exercise restraint, reject violence and engage in inclusive and constructive dialogue to address grievances and prevent further escalation.

Briefing the Security Council, Assistant Secretary-General Martha Pobee called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, an end to external interference, and renewed talks under the AU-IGAD-LAS-UN Quartet to stop Sudan’s descent into fragmentation.
