timeskip to modern era and kaoru just lurks around (surprisingly doesnt kill anyone despite his grudge to the gods) and met rei/orerei, and decides to keep him forever this time...

basically fox kaoru fell in love with moon(might be god??) rei but then he disappears bc new moon or smth idk and cant stand it so he tried to eat the sun and be one so he can make moon stay forever but the other gods doesnt approve of it and he got cursed/turned into a demonic entity sorta??
