Cardona made it clear that he only would return to WWE if he could be Matt Cardona and NOT as Zack Ryder.

I wouldn't put it past WWE to give Matt this match as a way to gauge the audience's reaction to Matt Cardona and if it could be more profitable than bringing back the Zack Ryder gimmick.

And Team TNA won against Team NXT. While the opposite was true for the women's survivor series match.
