The well-known distillery of Blackwater Mills in the County of Meath is advertised for sale by Mrs *Fay of Flower-Hill, Navan.
From what I can find out it didn't sell, and the Fay family went bankrupt a decade later

The upper floor of one of the warehouses at Clydesdale/Wishaw distillery collapses, causing several casks to fall and burst onto the floor below.
The site last distilled in 1916 after purchase by S.M.D; and is now a retail park.

20th October 1837
Lurgan Distillery of Messrs. Greer & Boyd in County Armagh, is destroyed by fire.
Casks were rescued from the warehouses and rolled into nearby fields as the premises was reduced to 'one scathed un-shapely mass of bare walls and smoking ruins'.

Distilling begins at Glen Cawdor distillery, Nairn: designed by Charles C. Doig.
A grand banquet for fifty gentlemen was held in one of the granaries to toast the occasion.
The site continued operations until 1927.

Glenbughty (Phingask) distillery, Aberdeenshire, is exposed for sale at Fraserburgh Town Hall and is purchased by Craigen Brebner and Co.

A serious fire occurs at Messrs McConnell's distilleries, Belfast.
Considerable damage was done to the still room, & adjoining sheds were destroyed at Cormac Distillery, Ravenhill Road; while 1.5m gallons of whisky escaped destruction.

The new owners of Glenallachie Distillery announce they are closing down indefinitely with the loss of 13 jobs. Dr Chris Grieg, M.D of Invergordon Distillers makes this announcement just one day after the takeover was agreed.

A Large fire breaks out in the kiln at Fettercairn Distillery, quickly spreading to No.1 Store efforts soon became focused on saving the still-house and rest of the buildings. In total 32,000 gallons of whisky are lost, and a large amount of malt.

The following notice was posted within the Bo'ness Distillery by its Manager, Mr. Percy Cowell.
It would never produce whisky again. 180 jobs were lost, the maltings continued on for a time, and the warehousing used by D.C.L for storage

Neil Brown & Co of Glasgow are selling Coal-Nan-Eallean distillery whisky.
This was another name for Jura distillery, and was also called Craighouse.
Founded around 1810 it went through several owners before being abandoned around WWI.

Mr David Blee; commercial member of the Railway Executive, announces that thanks to special precautions and new security schemes on the daily Scotland to London 'Whisky Train', pilfering of over £1,000,000 annually has been stopped.

A detached villa at Lisavon, East Belfast is found to have housed an extensive illicit distillery with two large stills, 160 gallons of poteen and numerous empty barrels being seized.

A fire breaks out at Sunbury Distillery, Leith.
Intriguingly this is caused by vapour igniting from spirit soaked wood that was being cut from one of the vats in order to satisfy new excise rules relating to their circumference and depth

The distillery buyers have made their first appearance of the season at Elgin grain market, purchasing a few small parcels of home barley.
The quality of the Danish barley however is 'excellent & cleaner than the bulk of the home stuff'.

Mr Alexander 'Sandy' Young retires after 48 and a half years with Mortlach Distillery. His colleagues presented him with "a Handsome armchair, pipe and tobacco pouch, and to Mrs Young a beautiful pouffe to match the chair."

The Phoenix Park Distillery closes down owing to the men refusing to handle coal unless brought in without police protection and union labour. The distillery will remain closed until assurances are given that operations can be resumed
