Day5 of #OAI14 was devoted to the theme of research integrity. 109 attenders logged in online from a wide range of countries, including Poland, Germany, UK, France, India, The Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, Peru, Italy, Colombia, Belgium and Argentina.

OAI14 began today on Research Security. 127 attenders signed in during the 2.5 hr session - from Canada, Mexico, Italy, India, UK, Ecuador, Bolivia, USA, Puerto Rica, Guatemala & Latvia. This session looked at Open Science in terms of the dictum 'As Open as possible, as Closed as necessary'.

Series 2 of UCL Press Play has now launched and episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays. The purpose of UCL Press Play is to highlight the importance of UCL research; it is also designed to spotlight where possible such outputs/outcomes in the Open Access publishing activity of UCL Press.

Joined today, virtually, the Focus on Open Science event held in Budapest by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in the global Focus on Open Science series of webinars. The theme was 'AI in Research and Libraries: Driving Quality through Open Science'. I spoke about the 10th anniversary of UCL Press.

2025 marks the 60th anniversary of UCL's Small Press collections. UCL has collected widely in this area of independent radical publishing to preserve the outputs of these activities. The collections comprise 4,500 periodicals and 20,000 pamphlets. Watch a new celebratory video at lnkd.in/eAhT7M6t.

The Petrie Museum of Egyptian & Sudanese archaeology in UCL is one of the largest of such collections anywhere. It holds the world's oldest woven garment, a 'dress' which is 5,000 years old. 2026 will be the 200th anniversary of the foundation of UCL (University College London). 3 Open Access volumes have been commissioned from UCL Press on student life, UCL research, and the architecture of UCL's buildings. See www.ucl.ac.uk/about/ucls-b... for further details. All to appear in 2026.
