DYK Denmark has 30 million pigs and only 5 million people? 🐖

It may be a small country but its agrifood system isn’t. Most of its agricultural land grows feed for livestock which gives a clear look at how intensive livestock systems operate and why context matters in sustainability conversations.

World's first carbon tax credit on livestock emissions is coming to Denmark. The tax is expected to start in 2030 and was structured with farmers in mind. Built-in deductions will ensure producers aren’t driven out of business as the policy rolls out.

We have eight bovine bubbles at UC Davis that are used to conduct large-scale studies on group-housed cattle.

They're equipped with smart scales & smart feeds that track individual feed intake & weight of animals part of our early-life intervention study. 🐂
