It’s like 5 degrees outside, I could have told you that. You don’t need a meteorological groundhog.

Do you hate leaving your terminal as much as I do?

Do you use Linear for project management?

Do you have strong opinions?

If so, check out this TUI I wrote for Linear and give me feedback: github.com/tjburch/line...

Opened the door to a 3 year old in a ballerina outfit and a penguin winter hat running at me yelling “DADDYS HOME! DADDYS HOME!” and life was absolutely perfect for that moment in time.

Kind of incredible how bad Apple’s voice-to-text is considering, you know, it’s Apple.

After just a short 2 year hiatus, I revived my blog with a look back on 2025.

Took advantage of the opportunity to reflect on a year of full-time R, sneak in notes about OSS contributions, thoughts on agentic AI, and more.

Happy New Year!

Strong rec for data people: if you use a library often, go to its GitHub issues, and find something, anything, to fix and submit a PR

- nothing teaches you the internals better than doing development
- you get software development reps and real code review experience
- giving back is good.
