Had to go over to Unst today to pick up my car that’s been there all autumn. Took the opportunity to go to look at 2 Long eared Owls, managed to find a third bird there as well!
Best I could do in dull light, the other 2 were even more obscured.#Shetlandbirding

Icelandic birders have been treated to a spectacular trio of Nearctic vagrants in recent weeks, including Varied Thrush and Brown-headed Cowbird:
Rare North American vagrants thrill Icelandic birders
Iceland has enjoyed a spectacular trio of North American vagrants in late October 2025, with a juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird, a male Varied Thrush and a Sora appearing across the country. The cowbird marks the first autumn record in the Western Palearctic, while the thrush is only Iceland's second ever.

It's been a Shrike-tacular last four weeks around Norfolk & Suffolk ~ a stunning adult Turkestan, a typically educational Brown, the isabelline overtones of Daurian, some monochrome magic of Great Grey & a classic 1w Red-backed.
