Democracy campaigner. Not a member of any politician party. The #1 issue for any politician to attend to is to uphold and protect our democracy. Because democracy is the heart of a government that functions for the people. Other issues come after that.

The Commonwealth Bank has no morals.

The bank is run by climate change deniers.

If that's not enough, the bank has been funding the far-right racist group Advance.

Everyone should cancel their accounts with the Commonwealth Bank.

Advance’s core campaigns against renewable energy and Aboriginal rights constitute the vested interests of many of their major contributors, particularly in the mining and energy sectors. other campaigns are to garner popular support. #auspol #Advance
Who are 'Advance' and what are they doing to our politics?
Launched in 2018 as a conservative answer to GetUp!, the group Advance likes to style itself as the voice of the average person against “the elite.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent.

Yep, it's hard to think of any premier, in all of Australia, who was worse than Crisafulli.

Except maybe Campbell Newman.

Oh, and how could I forget Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

Runners up would be Jeff Kennett, Chris Minns and Sir Robert Askin.

But first he's headed to Toowoomba for more of the same kind of thing.

Bruce Lehmann is Australia's most loathsome individual. A truly odious character.

NACC commissioner Paul Brereton also does not rank highly on character.

But the funding is for the NACC hearings, not the defamation or rape trials.

The United States is now a dangerous place to travel...

for anyone who has made comments on social media that are critical of Trump, his regime or his ideals.

Most of us here on BlueSky have been critical of Trump and his ideas.

Don't travel to the USA

If it's US soldiers, the Felon could grant them a pardon, if he likes them.

But it could be Australian troops that are in a joint exercise under US command. Then it could involve a trip to The Hague.

It's unbelievable, and unforgivable, that any politician would attempt to weaken our democracy by stifling freedom-of-information.

Let alone a Labor Prime Minister.

@albomp.bsky.social you can now hold your head in shame.

Maybe next, Albanese might like to give us a real-time web interface on who owns our political parties.

As big donors pour money into political parties, it would set off an instant alarm on our end.

Trump just enjoys killing people.

He's a malignant narcissist. No empathy.

He gets a kick out of it, so he does it again, and again.

Howard attacked unions.

But he also attacked Asian people.

By 2007, his once white seat of Bennalong had a high population of people with an Asian heritage. They voted him out of his seat.

Which makes it surprising that Dutton played the race card. That didn't go down well either.
twangmaker.bsky.social
I'm not sure if I agree with that one.

I think if a party has some beliefs and morals, it should stick with them. Stand up and defend them.

Not jump to the other side because there was nobody on the other side defending theirs.
twangmaker.bsky.social
Yeah, I wondered if that's Albo's strategy.

While the Liberal Party is missing in action, Albo moves to the right, hoping to pick up support from former Liberal Party voters.

But he will lose the Labor left voters.
twangmaker.bsky.social
Yep, the Greens are notorious for overpaying their hand, and losing the opportunity for compromise.

They also seem to have gone soft on political donations.

They used to always speak out about that. It's probably in a document somewhere. But I don't hear them speak out against political donations

As for how I vote, my vote keeps changing.

I vote for issues, and don't have a strong connection with any party.

Any party will go stale after a while. Then they value staying in power more than the issues.

The stronger a duopoly, the more the parties act as one, which you can see in the US
twangmaker.bsky.social
Hi Jessica

I didn't mean to have a go at you. I meant it with respect.

I'm genuinely curious, if I meet a Labor voter, what it actually means these days.

In the days of Gough Whitlam, it was very clear what Labor stood for.

But I perceive the Albanese government as being very right-wing.

The 🟠 Orange Felon can order people to commit war crimes, and he himself remains immune from prosecution.

But what about those who did the act? They don't have immunity.

This issue will come up with Australia's joint military operations with the United States. Trump will want to commit war crimes.

Just like the Labour Party in the UK and Democratic Party in the US. Everywhere in the Anglosphere, the supposed "center-left" party is a right-wing Trojan horse
twangmaker.bsky.social
The whole system of voting for a local member is obsolete.

We should be voting for national members with views that represent our own.

A bit more likely the senate, although that's still not national.
twangmaker.bsky.social
Both halves of the Liberal Party brain are racist.

Always making comments against migrants.

Trying to whip up hate against Aboriginal people.

If any of them didn't agree with all the racism, then they should have spoken out against it. But they didn't.
twangmaker.bsky.social
Are you a Labor voter, Jessica D. M. ?

Don't the right-wing policies coming out of the Albanese Labor government give you pause?

Eg:
• Jailing whistleblowers
• Sending refugees to offshore gulags
• Cutting back in-home care for the frail & elderly
• Kicking autistic kids off the NDIS
• FoI cuts

Advance wants to take away Australia's democracy and install Trumpism.

Boycott Advance donors:
• Wesfarmers (Coles, Kmart, Bunnings)
• Commonwealth Bank
• National Australia Bank
• Gelatissimo
• Kennards Storage, Kennards Hire

I could add some more items to the list of things Labor should do:

• Stop kowtowing to the Israel lobby
• Stop sending refugees to offshore gulags
• Release the whistleblowers from jail
• Put the teeth back in the NACC
• Stop approving more fossil fuel projects
• Extract royalties from gas exports
