Admittedly I haven't been following Of Monsters and Men for awhile but I've been digging the singles from their upcoming LP. Then they dropped a new 8-min track "Fruit Bat" last week and it has wrecked me. Just found this live performance of it and oh so beautiful: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXC6...

Weird and awesome album release day this Friday, Oct. 3: Thrice, Stay Inside, Rocket, Taylor Swift. Last big release day of the year as well I think?

Wild and surreal weekend seeing Poor Old Lu, the Prayer Chain, and Mortal. My high school senior self, who would have called them 3 of my top 5 fav bands of the time 30 years ago, wouldn’t believe it. “Bright Wings” with @dkthedrummer.bsky.social still feels like a dream!

Should do a split with @thriceofficial.bsky.social where each band covers their favorite Cave In song

Ooh this sounds intriguing!

Sixpence is an all-time fav, and “This Beautiful Mess” is as good as it gets for me. sadly though the band does themselves no favors presenting as a cover band much of the time. All their albums are fantastic, but many don’t get acknowledged in their shows

was hanging out with someone who made a disparaging comment about Sixpence None The Richer and brother in this house we speak well of Sixpence

this was so hard for so long. I remember for my 36th birthday my present from my wife was to be able to go to a Pinback show by myself--this was a few months after our 3rd child was born. But now that they are all almost teens I take them with me! But yeah for about 10 years not many shows.

Three ways to get one:
1. Send me $7 to cover materials
2. Trade! Make me a mix (tapes also great!) at some point in the coming months
3. Commit to buying something directly from one of the 17 artists on the mix (record, CD, shirt, etc.)

Keeping the artists a secret! :)

I made a mix CD this week! And I made 10 copies of it to give away. If you want one, keep reading...

New Fantastic Four film was fun, really enjoyed it. Best Marvel film of the last 5 (?) years maybe? I know the bar is low. But it was simple and direct and the 60's set pieces were terrific. Money well spent.

Whoa so this kinda blew up earlier! As @totalvibration.bsky.social mentioned, pretty hilarious commentary from Many on Ebel/T&N in the middle. And the next video I watched was Morelia’s Forest at Cstone this same year. But yeah the focus is that Rosie sounds spectacular and Velour100 was amazing

Rediscovered this YouTube video of Velour 100 at Cornerstone 2000 and getting chills listening to Rosie Thomas sing "Dolphin Grey": www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPsi...

So good! I really want to get a copy of that There Will Be Fireworks album on vinyl but hard to find in the US. And I wore an Elliott False Cathedrals shirt to Pugfest on Sunday and it led to half a dozen different conversations about them!

I rarely blog any more but I did today! Here are my top 10 albums of 2025 thus far, the albums I am looking forward to for the second half of 2025, a BNDCMPR playlist of 17 awesome 2025 song: www.turnofftheradio.de/2025/07/top-...

Any chance of this playlist in another format for a Spotify boycotter (me)? Also saw Stay Inside at Pugfest Sunday and it was amazing and that upcoming album is going to be 🔥

Haha, for real. Would love to listen to a fully realized Machina, but I don’t have $400 to spend on something like this.
