The arrival of SECRET KEEPERS, my second book (from @bellepointpress.bsky.social) and first short-story collection.

I never dreamed I'd have one book, much less two. Thank you to all its readers, past, present, and future. 💚💙📚
A box full of SECRET KEEPERS, showing the front cover and back cover A graphic for both my books, LETTING IN AIR AND LIGHT, and SECRET KEEPERS. It also reads Now Available next to the Belle Point Press logo.

Same translator, but it had been out of print, published by a university press, 2003. I found a used copy awhile back.
A copy of Olga Tokarczuk's House of Day, House of Night. The cover holds a black and white illustration of houses crowding a narrow path with a bicyclist near the bottom

Not lucrative. Not prestigious. But should be fun and it’s $50 in your pocket. Send us some poems; we aren’t open for them very often!

Apologies to my first book, LETTING IN AIR AND LIGHT, for forgetting its 2nd birthday -- two days ago.
(In my defense, I have a lot going on.)

Last night in a dream I explained to someone about the nail polish my daughter's friend custom-made for my book's birth, this prompting my memory...
Copy of my book from BELLE POINT PRESS with two empty blue nail polish bottles above it. They're from FAMILIAR POLISH. Yay for indies!

PD day at the Fisher Rare Books Library
They always have an interesting display of some of their books for the public.

Here we have Finnegan’s Wake and a description of why this copy is considered “rare”; It is accompanied by an artist’s interpretation of the same text.

A Iicture taken from the centre of the panopticon. About five floors of books surround you on all sides. You are encased in glass. A display of rare books are open for you to view at your level. Above a long light, looking like a huge insect strip hangs above the centre of the room. A first edition of Finnegan’s Wake. It has been annotated. It was once owned by Marshall McLuhan. A cut-up and knitted edition of Finnegan’s Wake. The book lies open. Its red cover frames the black and white pages of the book. Descriptions of both items:
#43 James Joyce’s 1939 first edition
#44Ximena Perez Grobet’s 2013 “Reading Finnegan’s Wake”

I just finished Helen of Nowhere by Makenna Goodman from @coffeehousepress.bsky.social
Spectacular ending!

like there's discussion to be had about adults reading YA, who the age level is marketed to, and about adult publishing leaning into more commercial genre fiction, but just being like "everything that is shallow or commercial we are going to call YA" is ill-informed and lazy

I liked David's the time I had it, esp. having enough tea for a potful every day. I can't remember if I've had the Adagio's before, but I will now 😃
