I spose they're just walled garden ecosystem PC's at this point. So the PS5 being 2020 hardware and not high end at that, would imagine an upgrade being possible soon. It will mostly be up to what they can stuff in there and keep the price reasonable I think.

Yeah I don't know what's with it, I run into tons of people who haven't thought about it - which was normal when VPNs were niche nerdy things but now they're in every Youtube ad - so it's kind of obvious no one doing shady stuff would use their own IP directly.

Neither have many government officials when they announce cyberattack coming from certain country. The perps are almost certainly NOT in that country, I route via two different countries just for shits and giggles (along with a tiny increase in privacy).

On a more serious note it's almost certainly a VPN server, the person might be in Uganda.

Allowing anyone to have social support for any crazy bullshit they can possibly come up with and even a community around that is one of the more worrisome "worse" sides of online enviroments. This lets a lot of bullshit fly that would stop in one's head for lack of support without online things.

What we absolutely are at this point is maladapted to online enviroments. We haven't caught up with the necassary critical thinking and media literacy skills on population level at all - hoping we're simply living an adjustment period.

I guess it's both for better and for worse, I mean, it's just a new enviroment we need to learn to deal with. Both advantages and disadvantages. What I notice people doing is just going on about the disadvantages while forgetting the thousand new good things we can now do.

Doesn't matter what they really ARE, as long as they quack like a duck enough that our head says "this is a person". MOST people will be okay and counter with their logic, but the percentage who will have issues with this is going to be considerable.

Popular reads of attachment theory are oversimplified as fuck and the theory itself warrants some critique; it's more a rough categorization than something to go by.

This is the danger of LLMs in my opinion tho, we intuitively view them as people. They can be a replacement for any relationship.

Adolescence is quite well researched in psychology and educational sciences and there is rather strong agreement in the scientific community in related fields about what's going on. Seems to be smartphones and short form instant gratification content.

This stuff is learned in childhood. Kids have quite a bit of free time. You can fuck up attention span temporarily with stress etc. but that's not the issue, the issue is kids never learn to sit down and focus on one thing at all, they live in overstimulating enviroments.

Yeah same got bored of running back to bosses. It's not a skill issue, I'm just bored. I'll finish it when I feel like memorizing boss mechanics and doing those stupid runs back to a boss when I'm learning it. Not in the mood right now.
