We have a couple more days-worth of posts coming, and we’ll keep collecting book recs. Thank you to everyone who’s been reading along with us, and who has messaged or posted to say that they intend to keep supporting these stories throughout the year. 💙🩷🤍

Slide 5: Text Reads: What Can You Do Right Now? Read Trans All Year. Don’t wait for the readathon to read, review, support & uplift trans stories and authors! With book banning on the rise, stories written by and/or featuring trans folks especially those written by Black, Indigenous, and POC authors will be, and have always been targeted the most. Purchasing trans books, requesting trans books at your library, requesting trans books from publishers, reviewing, making content, and uplifting these books are ways to take action!

Slide 6: What Can You Do Right Now? Invest in Mutual Aid. Organizations and nonprofits are important, but the impact of immediate mutual aid is monumental. Offer your time, your labor, your skills, your support to your local trans organizations. With the restrictions on the federal level for funding, your support (monetary & otherwise) can make a big impact. Support your neighbor. See a mutual aid post? Have $5? Make direct impact. See a mutual aid post? Don’t have the means? Share the post. Indirect impact. One action can make all the difference.

Slide 7: What Can You Do Right Now? Stay Informed and Engaged. Resist the urge to doom scroll and give into the chaos. We need all of us. We cannot close our eyes to the news or the needs of our neighbors. It also does no one any good to be aware of information without processing it. Stay informed, stay engaged. If you’re not engaged at your local level, start now.

When one of our volunteers made this post >3 weeks ago, there were ~500ish bills being considered and only 5 had passed. 😔 We love how bright and joyful our feed has been the last 11 days, but we also want to remind people that 11 days of reading is only the start. #trr25 #transrightsreadathon

The International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual day of recognition celebrated around the world on March 31st, which is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and victories of transgender and gender-expansive people, while simultaneously raising awareness of the work that is still needed to combat discrimination and violence.

Just in the first quarter of 2025 there are 736 anti-trans bills being considered. 42 more have already passed.
