I’m not a film or cinematographer expert but something that continues to bother me about a lot of modern movies is that the near entirely CGI environments have this softness to them. There is no hard contrast and no bite.

I have zero issue with XIII-3 being an outfit based combat system tbh (I love X-2) but that story was doing nothing for me

I like Nomuras designs but I personally miss the whimsy of some of the older games and just wish we had more variety on the character design (and overall art style) front

If I had my perfect world he would have remained and they would have continued doing the VIII/IX approach with one sakaguchi led team and one kitase/nomura team

I personally vibe more with Sakaguchi’s version of what final fantasy’s identity is and approach to story telling, but love all of them
