Visually impaired version! Last night's sky was a strangely unearthly silvery-grey, lit by a bright full moon - a Herne the Hunter kind of night - though this morning the clouds have moved in and it is now just a faint, fading glow behind them. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind

A friend in the US has kindly told me amazon.com are now saying my hardback of The Christmas Retreat will only arrive after Christmas! I'm so sorry about this - the only way to get one sooner is via amazon.uk ! It might still be on a deal, if ordered fast.

Visually impaired version! The sky was a strangely light, streaky grey in the night - perhaps the moon was behind it? The stars were also hiding this morning, playing their celestial music of the spheres somewhere I couldn't hear it, only the heavy splat of rain against the window

Visually impaired version! Only the highest and brightest star is visible in the dense, royal purple sky this morning and, other than the distant hoot of an owl, all is silent except for the seashell-sighing of distant traffic. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! A silver-sequin-scattered translucent blackberry sky, the brightest stars seeming to form a slanting upwards line towards the Winter Star, who at this time of year, reigns supreme. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! A milky, starless, dark violet sky and the sudden, heavy hammer of rain. The garden smells of wet earth and winter, but the conservatory behind me of oil paints, linseed oil and contentment. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! I caught a gleaming shoal of stars in the net of my peripheral vision early this morning, but now the sky is milky dark grey and only the highest and brightest of them all still glimmers faintly. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! Under the velvety, starless indigo sky, only a few houses in the valley show warm, glimmering lights. But out in the cold garden, the birds are singing bravely in the dark. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! Early this morning, I had a brief glimpse of a myriad of stars in an indigo sky, before the dark mauve-grey clouds moved back in. Now dawn is not so much breaking, as sneaking in at the edges and a gale is rattling and crashing around the house

Visually impaired version! Just briefly, at sunset last night, I glimpsed a patch of pale azure sky and a fluffy little lemon-edged cloud, the kind that should have a cherub sitting on it. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment

Visually impaired version! I could see only one star high in the early dark, rubbed-velvet sky, but it was so large and bright that it looked as if it might have eaten all the others... and perhaps sometimes that happens? But I suspect this morning the others were just hiding behind the clouds

Visually impaired version! A heart-lifting early deep indigo sky, set with too many bright, bright stars to count. Now it has grown prettily marbled in dove grey over steely blue and the birds are stirring in the hedges. #trishaashley #morning #trishaworld #blind #visualimpairment
