ICE is beating up and detaining citizens for several days and sometimes weeks with no charges. The Trump admin is blowing up boats (with people) in the Caribbean without due process or sufficient cause

And the vast majority of Americans seem to not care. That’s a major problem.
How a Democrat engages with Bitcoin is a litmus test

It says can you speak and engage with the future? Can you engage a younger vote? Can you combat Trump while also engaging on emerging technology as a non partisan, winning issue?

It’s not just about Bitcoin. Be smart.
The Democrats will find it increasingly hard to win while Trump is in power. Full stop.

Despite Trump not being favorable, many of his policies extreme, the Democrats continue to operate from a place of fear and no direction. Voters feel that. Voters don’t trust Dems!
I don’t like the language or assumption that a CBDC is a “public” option as many, particularly in media and western governments/politicians, are proposing.

It’s not about the public (the people). It’s a government surveillance and control option.
If the government ceases to be by the people for the people

Then let’s move on from it. I’m not sure I can still share Ezra Klein’s optimism of hope for good governance. Happy to be proven wrong…but the incentives aren’t there.

At least make it look good. This is the fugliest statue I’ve ever seen
I think it’s a privileged Bluesky position to think Harris lost & Trump won bc Americans were bored and wanted a show. (Saw that in comments)

It was the culmination of lots of things, but the lies and hypocrisy of Biden admin/mental decline, and the talking down from Dems, plus economy/immigration
Yes, capitalist economic system
I will continue to work on and advocate for bitcoin and freedom tech, while also wading into political waters and fight for a new left of center approach to our broken, and extremely partisan politics and society.

The moment is now
My first piece is live. You can find it here and subscribe (liberalground.com domain coming soon)

Today I’m launching Liberal Ground, a publication (and beyond) where I will reflect and write about culture, society and politics, with an appeal to rebuild the sane and moderate left, and find unity and common ground in liberal values - the foundation of America
I really think you’re gonna like the vibes here then

We have to hold to liberal values and principles, especially when it’s hard.
When you turn a blind eye to one, you’re insinuating you’re ok with some forms of political violence and not others.

We must reject *all* instances of political violence
We must examine these issues to their core when they happen.

Just as we do for right wing extremism or any other forms of extremism.

But it’s hypocritical to call it out in one instance and turn a blind eye in another.
That *does not* mean we do not vehemently criticize a group of people, ideology, or reaction (in this case many on the left cheering Charlie’s assassination).
No one single political ideology in the United States holds a monopoly on political violence.

Anyone suggesting otherwise is not a person to be taken seriously. And if you’re a politician or in media, do better.

Our liberal democracy depends on it.
As Charlie Kirk fought for and used his first amendment free speech rights (which he never should have been punished for with murder, insanity!) anyone has a right to use free speech.

Not just your supporters, Mr. Trump.

Speech is not responsible for violence. It’s a protected 1st amendment right
Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

When things get bad and they start disabling cell towers to quell protests, make sure you’ve already installed Bitchat. bitchat.free

Violence continues to get absolutely out of hand in this country. I don’t care what political camp you’re from. And if you’re from the left and this is how you chose to combat those you disagree with…fuck you.

Enough! Hope Charlie is ok.

This photo is the bane of my existence. Most of you on this site probably hate and associate bitcoin with Trump, MAGA, and billionaires turning their backs on democracy.

I don’t blame you. And yet, Bitcoin as freedom and resistance money the state can’t control is the antithesis to Trump
Why would anyone support an administration that wants to cover up pedophile rings, war mongering, sending troops on its streets against citizens , indiscriminate ICE raids (including American citizens), state capitalism forcing tariffs (tax on citizens), and shitcoin corruption?
